If I had to start my luxury bags collection again and avoid any potential expensive mistakes, this is the guidelines I would follow.
1. Start with one classic bag that will match everything or at least most things in a neutral colour.
I would recommend to start with two bags - one in black and one in nude/ beige colour. Or if just one, start with a black one.
You might be tempted with all the trendy pieces in all seasonal colours but it would be a bit tricky when the trends pass and the colour becomes less fashionable or , even worse, you will discover that the colour you chose is very difficult to style with anything else you have in your wardrobe.
For this reason. investing in black and beige bags you will insure that this will not happen and you will be investing your money wisely in the bag that you can wear for many seasons to come. and that you can wear the bag often achieving cost per wear.
2. The shapes or brands are also quite important while starting your luxury bag collection. It is better to choose a classic shape rather than the current trendy one for the very same reason described above. If you are choosing a shoulder bag, think about the Chanel classic flap and any similar shaped bags. This style has proven to be timeless.
