MERE RESTAURANT REVIEW - A GEM ON CHARLOTTE STREET

I have recently visited Mere and I was absolutely delighted by the experience it offers. The restaurant is located by Charlotte Street which is a great location in Central London for other bars and restaurants. 

As you walk in to the restaurant you can notice a very interesting design with glass walls and lots of wood arranged in a very modern way but it does not make the space cold, it it very warm and inviting. As soon as you walk in , there is a bar to your right with a few tables with velvet chairs and a bar counter. The service is super friendly and helpful all along , wonderful staff is looking after you stealth away making sure you have everything you need. 

The restaurant itself is downstairs in a beautiful modern space with wonderful ambiance, modern but cosy and inviting at the same time. There is a bottles rack feature which is particularly cool. Also there are some small African motives that are very beautifully blended into the decor. 

The menu is fantastic with lots of interesting choices, even for picky vegetarians and especially for pescatarians with lovely fish. It was a difficult choice but I had scallops to start, definitely in the top ten scallop dishes I have ever eaten! Juicy and with creamy sauce. My main course was pollock - that was a dish straight from heavens, beautifully presented in a round shape and fluffy white fish that melts in your mouth! For this dish alone, I would definitely come back to Mere very soon! My friend had beef to start and then followed by lamb. Also very delicious and beautifully presented. 

The dessert was a divine sweet pastry tart, super light fluffy and pink. Another delicacy straight from the heavens!

The selection of wines in Mere is vast and the sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable , I wish I had tried more of their selection but we dined on a 'school night' so had to be a bit careful.

Mere is a wonderful place for a date, to celebrate special occasions, or just no occasion at all, just to enjoy life.Also a great choice for business lunches or dinners as it is very central and will definitely impress! I will be definitely coming back. It is a hidden gem of a restaurant, absolute perfection, there is nothing to be improved there, it's perfect.
