Chicama - Chelsea restaurant review

Chicama is a hidden gem in Chelsea. Why have I not discovered it sooner is a mystery! Chicama is a Peruvian restaurant just off King's Road, close to Bluebird and Beaufort House. It is tucked away in a corner and is quite small but has an outside space for summer dining. Where do I start, this tiny restaurant is an absolute gem in Chelsea, it serves seafood and Peruvian inspired style. I have already been there twice and really keen to go again. It is perfect for a romantic date or catching up with friends and family. It is very nicely decorated , I want to say it is very cute, but can you actually say that about a restaurant ? Any ladies visiting will know what I mean. Think pink plush chairs by the bar and cute plants on the terrace. The food is absolutely delicious, I have tried a few things but I love seafood so much that I love everything on the menu. My favourite at the moment is octopus as a main course and service as a starter. And of course you have to try pisco sou...

SOHO HOUSE MEMBERS CLUB REVIEW

London Soho House is a members club that has many varied venues across London , here are some that I have been to and what I think about them, are they worth it? Soho House is meant to be a place for people who work in media and other creative professions. White City House - a massive venue in White City with restaurants and bars and a swimming pool on the rooftop. There is all you need to be entertained, concerts, shows, cabaret, restaurants ( I lived the Japanese restaurant there) and of course the famous swimming pool. Whereas the venues itself is luges , the pool area gets very crowded even on a Monday so it is a bit tricky to really enjoy it. I wish the pool was bigger. Otherwise I love the venue and the service is always super nice and helpful. Little House in Mayfair. As the name suggests it is very small and suitable for drinks after work if you happened to be in Mayfair area. They also serve food and have live piano on occasions. A small bar and restaurant are...

BEST RESTAURANTS FOR OYSTER LOVERS IN LONDON

Oysters and champagne, what a great idea to spend the afternoon in London in some of the best London restaurants. London has many restaurants that offer fresh sea food and oysters as well. I have samples many of those tasty creatures and I have selected a few top places where you can enjoy them in London. Champagne is optional but I think they really taste the best with champagne. 1. Scott's - in the heart of Mayfair, 'see and be seen' by fellow seafood lovers in this amazing top London restaurant. Personally this was my best champagne and oysters experience. Book early to avoid disappointment as this is a one of the best London restaurants. Be ready to meet the glitterati of London. 2. J. Sheeky - Atlantic bar- this place is a legend amongst all theatre and opera goers. A London institution famous for amazing seafood and oysters. If you are into theatre you cannot miss visiting this place. You can either book a table or sit at the oyster bar. It is famous for actors dining...

KOJI RESTAURANT REVIEW

Koji is a Japanese restaurant located in Fulham. It is a hidden gem of a restaurant that can rival the more famous Japanese restaurants in London like Roka and Zuma. The location is more convenient for Chelsea and Fulham residents though and also Parsons Green. Koji also has a bar with the famous feather lamp decorations that are absolutely stunning. Lots of cocktails to choose from to start off the evening. The menu has a large selection of dishes that are all absolutely delicious, I have tried most of them and highly recommend everything! My preference of course being sashimi and sushi and other variations like ceviche , also many others, you can't go wrong with Koji. The service is really great and very attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is always very busy and fun, make sure you book as it seems it is always full even on a week day. It is perfect for any occasion, family dinners, dates, friends gatherings etc. A great place with a fantastic atmospher...

Zuma - restaurant review

Is it true what they say about Zuma? Zuma has been a London top Japanese restaurant for decades now but it is true what they say? Zuma has been famous for many things in London, one is obviously amazing food and atmosphere, that still carries on to 2025 as I have personally checked several times recently. They occasionally change the menu but there are some classics you could request that are still available if you are in the know. If you are a long term Zuma customer you will have had your favourites. Same goes for drinks and cocktails at the bar. The service is always impeccable and waiters are very knowledgable about the dishes and drinks. The ambiance is very fun and the music gets a bit clubby sometimes which is a good thing. I love the bar , it always attracts interesting characters and sometimes you can spot someone famous. Zuma still "got it' as the best London restaurant for Japanese / Asian fusion cusine. So if you are thinking of visiting after many years yo...

ALIEN GODDESS BY MUGLER - PERFUME REVIEW

The new perfume by Mugler - Alien Goddess perfume review. Independent review. I was very curious about this fragrance as I am a huge fan of Alien perfume series for a very long time. I love the bottles and of course the special DNA of this range. After trying this perfume I must say I was not disappointed, on the contrary, I absolutely love it. The first thing you have to know about this fragrance is that it doesn't smell anything like the original Alien. This can be good or bad depending on your stand where it comes to the original. I love both. This Alien is completely different and I still love it. This is a quite a linear scent and it develops quickly into what it is later. The notes include Coconut water and bergamot Jasmine, heliotrope Bourbon vanilla , cashmerian For me this fragrance was a predominantly coconut and vanilla. Fresh and sweet lovely coconut , that turns slowly sweeter and sweeter and more vanilla , very opulent and rich vanilla smell. I abs...

Why Online Dating Is So Bad in 2025: An In-Depth Look at a Modern Disappointment

Why Online Dating Is So Bad in 2025: An In-Depth Look at a Modern Disappointment Online dating in 2025 is more accessible and sophisticated than ever—but paradoxically, many users report growing frustration, burnout, and disappointment. Despite new features, improved algorithms, and a booming number of apps catering to every niche, the user experience has never felt more hollow. So, why is online dating so bad in 2025? Let's break it down. 1. Algorithmic Fatigue: The Illusion of Choice Most dating platforms rely on algorithms to curate matches. In theory, this should be efficient and tailored—but in practice, it often leads to “option paralysis.” Users are presented with endless choices, which diminishes the perceived value of each match. People swipe endlessly, not necessarily to find a connection, but to see if someone “better” is a swipe away. This commodification of human connection erodes depth and makes forming meaningful relationships harder. 2. Gamification Over Conn...

London theatre- Lyonesse -honest review

New play in Harold Pinter theatre Lyonesse starring Kristin Scott Thomas and Lilly James. I have some thoughts about this play that I will share in this review with some spoilers. Both actresses are absolutely splendid is the play, their performance is very entertaining , funny and thought provoking. There is a lot of symbolism in the play that one might not pick up on if they are not aware of it. The play tells a story of an actress who left the scene after some traumatic experiences and now is ready to come back to tell the tale. A young producer is visiting her to plan the movie based on her life. While the story unravels and the young producer is transfixed but the life and current lifestyle of the actress. Then after a series of event she is contemplating moving into Lyonesse (the name do the house they live in). The symbolism of Lilith is also present in the play (used as the name of the film production company) which pretty much sets the tone of the play if you ...
