Christmas is coming- The Nutcracker at The Royal Opera House

Magnificent, dazzling and enchanting performance of The Nutcracker at The Royal Opera House yesterday. The sign of the Christmas approaching and the way to get into the christmassy mood. A beautiful magical performance from the Royal Ballet featuring: Roberta Marquez as Sugar Plum Fairy & Steven McRae as The Prince. I have been happy to enjoy it in the cinema, the new way to enjoy the ballet and opera for the late comers who have forgotten to book their tickets (lucky two last tickets!) or simply for the ones on the budget. The show is running throughout December and half of January. To check availability click on ROH website, sometimes they have a few spare tickets on the day of the performance in case it shows as sold out at the moment. As all the finest shows in London it is best to book well in advance. Or perhaps try Viagogo website.

For the baller and opera fanatics, the Royal Opera House has many behind the scenes videos and interesting articles. Did you know that the Royal Ballet spends £250 000 on pointe shoes? That is a lot of money spent just on shoes! You can support Pointe Shoes Appeal click here. I think it is a great cause. The costs of the production must be enormous.

Another interesting article is this one here about the costs of seeing an opera or ballet show, it's not as expensive as it seems to be and the ROH is trying to entice the audience to come by keeping the tickets cost low, which is great as everyone can see it and enjoy the performance, cinema live shows as I have experienced yesterday are also a great idea.

Enjoy The Nutcracker.

Monica Vinader jewellery Twelve Stones - love it!

I am really obsessed by Monica Vinader jewellery. It's inspired by the twelve gemstones, set beautifully in 18 carat gold plater vermeil on sterling silver. Each piece is so beautiful, the collection also includes stacking rings (be careful as that is really addictive), pendants and bracelets with added charms so that you can create your own unique style, also it is good for adjusting your budget as well. You can add to your collection as you go. I am really captivated by the gemstones as not many designers have used them so often until recently. Amethyst, quartz, topaz and the wonderful moonstone! Trust me this jewellery is keeping me awake at night just dreaming about it. You can also add diamonds to your necklace to make it more special. For now I am loving my Siren White Topaz thin cuff.
To make it even more special, you can engrave a message, you can order it online or buy in Harrods (engraving is free there).
Beware of jewellery addiction and visit Monica Vinader website here.

Other pieces I like:

Cocktail rings and stacking rings, moonstone and topaz are my favourites.

Moonstone bracelet
Necklaces that you can customise adding lots of pendants.
Earrings

Jewellery by Agata Bielen

Browsing through blogs I have found something interesting for you fellow shopaholics as I am going through my obsession with jewellery. As featured here at The Sartorialist blog, I discovered Agata Bielen jewellery. Very different and minimalistic which is usually not what I would go for, quite opposite really but it this case I actually love her designs. You can see them here in the Showroom store
Here is the designer herself , photo by The Sartorialist

And here are my favourite picks from the collection:

It is sparkles beautifully, which you can't unfortunately see in the photo but if you like sparkles this bracelet will make you happy, also with a snowflake necklace to match. I noticed David Deyong jewellery shop in Fulham Broadway station and was 'accidentally' passing by one in Westfield shopping centre yesterday ... :-) You can also shop online in David Deyong online jewellery shop and a few other places in London. Sticks n Sushi - the best sushi in Wimbledon- blog restaurant review

Do you know this feeling when you wake up in the morning and have a huge craving for sushi? No??? Ok, maybe it's just me and I should change my blog's name to Sushiholic! Anyway, the best place to satisfy your sushi cravings is in Wimbledon and is called Sticks n Sushi. Luckily they serve the menu all day long as we arrived for a late (very late) lunch. The menu is full of fantastic dishes, many still remain there for me to try, we had sashimi lux and salmon and friends.

The previous late lunch was table for 2 sushi with additional choice.

I also recommend great espresso coffee and chocolate bites for light dessert.

That fed two very hungry sushi addicts, one ate more than the other, I think you can guess which one. The food arrives super fresh and beautifully presented and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
I am hoping to go to Sticks and Sushi soon for an evening meal to see the ambiance and try more dishes. If you happend to live in or close Wimbledon, you are in luck, if not it is worth travelling to.
I encourage you to have a look at the menus here- menus as they look amazing and will get you in the sushi mood ;-)
Visit website and book

Sushisamba - London sushi with Brazilian and Peruvian influence- review

Sushisamba is located near Liverpool Street station, at 38th and 39th floor of the Heron Tower. It is a very special restaurant firstly because it's unique design by Certa Ruddy architects and also the spectacular views over London. It feels like eating on top of the world, looking around is simply breathtaking due to the way the restaurant is designed, most of the surfaces are made of glass. I was there for an early dinner and had the opportunity to have a proper look so if you would like to experience it properly I would advise to arrive during the daylight, so lunch perhaps or early dinner, like I did. Evening time the restaurant glitters with lots of lights, also at the terrace where there is a bar with a tree covered with red lights (my favourite bit, needless to say) .

The food is obviously my favourite Japanese but here there is Brazilian and Peruvian influence as a result of Japanese immigrants who travelled to South America and as a result we can enjoy the wonders of this fusion, for example Sashimi Serviche, Tuna Tataki or Wagyu Beef Gunkan. If you had never tried it before I suggest you get some advice from the staff to make sure you taste some of those unique flavours.

I will definitely be back for more despite the fact it is a long way but it is worth to travel to the City for such a great experience.

Bulgari necklace - Shop The Shopaholic online store

Inspired by other blogs I decided to open my own mini online store. You can click on it on top of the blog page and it will take you straight to the store. :-)
My first featured item is the Bulgari necklace. What do you think about it?
It's a great necklace for someone who likes this style, it's bold and makes a statement. It comes in an original Bulgari dust pouch. This necklace was a gift but it is not my style so I never worn it therefore it is in a great condition. Let me know if you like it or if you have any questions. More items are available in my store and I will be adding new ones very often as I have many never or hardly ever worn items in my wardrobe.
