Sunset Mountain Yoga Retreat - my stay in Ibiza

Sunset Mountain Yoga Retreat Ibiza – review of my stay.

Where do I start, it was a wonderful one week at the yoga retreat. This yoga retreat is located in a secluded place in Ibiza. The villa is really big and cozy, with lovely rooms with an individual outside space, all day snacks are available in the kitchen and living area with wi-fi. Outside the most wonderful infinity swimming pool with fresh water and jacuzzi. You can relax on the sun beds and top up your tan after your yoga practise.

We had 3 hours a day of yoga practise with Lena, our yoga teacher. Three hours of theory per week is also included in the programme. The whole week yoga practise is constructed in such a way that even if you had never practised yoga you can easily cope and if you had practised before, you will never be bored as the poses and practise are very varied and there is always a challenge in store for every day.

Lena is a wonderful yoga teacher who is very passionate about yoga, she lives and breathes yoga and you get the bug of yoga into your life making you think how to incorporate ayurveda philosophy into your life, a particularily difficult task when you are a Londoner but I can always try.

All the meals are included in the price and are freshly prepared every day at the kitchen. Every day we had a very varied selection of vegetarian dishes, even though I am not a vegetarian it really made me want to become one as the food was so delicious. I will miss the food, so yummy!

Another thing I will miss is the cat which lives in the retreat, Feliz. She is the most adorable white and ginger cat who lots her leg after meeting some evil dog. She loves cuddles and is very cute.

For the party addicts who come to Ibiza – if you are worried that you might overdose on yoga, the good news is that the yoga practise starts at 8am on the first day and then it's at 5pm and then again at 8pm and so on so you can still go out on some days and enjoy Ibiza while not missing out on yoga practise. Good for people who like to have the best of both worlds. :-) In personal opinion, the best places to go out are Blue Marlin (best on Sundays) and Ushwaraya.

I asked Lena to consider coming to London for winter with some yoga workshops. I think I will struggle to find a better yoga teacher in London so I hope she will come! I will keep you posted, fingers crossed.

Thank you Lena and all the staff at the retreat for a wonderful time! We hope to be back soon.

How to pack for your holidays and stay glamourous at all times?

Having done some travels recently, I came up with my special packing solutions, just for you shopaholics out there as I know your suitcases are overflowing with clothes and accessories and you are in desperate need of advice on how to make packing nightmare easier.

1. Depending on how many days you are going for choose an outfit for each day, some days you might want to wear the same thing twice, for example jeans so add extra tops to match.
2. How many days of your stay will you go out? - depending on that choose the amount of going out dresses, add an extra dress in case of last minute change of mood, include a LBD for a safe bet outfit. Never get caught in the same dress twice unless in a different postcode/country and/or with a different companion.
3. Lay all of the above on the bed to have a clear view of what you are taking with you.
4. Moving onto shoes and accessories, add them to each outfit and choose only the ones that match to everything to reduce the danger of having a too heavy suitcase. For example, no point in taking two pairs of similar black heels, the first pair will do the job, I know you will miss the others but you will be fine!
5. Add jackets and cardigans to match in case of bad luck with weather. Match to dresses and casuals.
6. Handbags- take one comfy bag for travel and everyday casual look and one clutch for going out, add one smart bigger bag for an in between situation. And again, I know you will miss your other bags but they will wait for you at home when you come back!
7. Viola- now you are left with a huge pile on your bed and all you have to do it to pack it neatly into your suitcase.
8. Just before you leave add your cosmetics bag and your make up bag, hairdryer and/straighteners, passport and you are ready to go!
9. Hopefully your luggage is not overloaded at the moment and you still have some space in case you want to buy some lovely local designer items that nobody else has :-) Yay!

Bon Voyage!

BBC Proms 20212

For those who are interested in classical music there is a real feast going on at the Royal Albert Hall, BBC Proms are on till September so you can still catch a few concerts if you hurry up. I've been lucky to see a few, most recent one- Requiem by Berlioz on Saturday. Absolutely amazing concert conducted by Thierry Fischer. You can see what's on and book tickets here. Book early to avoid disappointment as the best concerts sell out quickly.

Toulouse must see - The Capitole

The Capitole in Toulouse is a 18th century building is one of the France's finest town halls and is a must see place when visiting Toulouse. Located in the centre of Toulouse, it is open to visit for tourists and offers the magnificent Salles des Illustres, the Salle Gervais and Salle Henri-Martin where you can see his beautiful impressionist paintings.

And the famous Henri Martin, The Dreamers

And Summer, amazing light and almost 3D experience, unfortunately slightly spoiled by my photographic skills, but just to give you an idea.

Foie gras in Toulouse - resistance is futile...

No, it's not just an ordinary hamburger, it's a mini foie gras hamburger served in Le Bibent restaurant in Toulouse. As for a mini hamburger it's quite tall and very tasty. One of the many amazing dishes in that restaurant.

Being European, I am not scared of eating the delicious calf's liver, as well as trying other dishes in another excellent brassierie, Le Capoul

Sweetbreads, liver etc.! :-) Yummy!

And lovely local red wine.
As i said resistance is futile when it comes to food in France, do not go there if you are on a diet or are squeamish about eating unusual things. Both, Le Bibent and Le Capoul are fantastic, highly recommended if you are visiting Toulouse.
