CUT at 45 Park Lane

A romanic dinner or a business lunch, all depends on the mood but CUT at 45 Park Lane is suitable for all occasions. It's been opened recently and is an excellent choice if you feel like a gourmet steak. The restaurant has been opened in September 2011 and it specialises in American steak but there are others choices on the menu as well.

I tried the tongue as a starter which was surprisingly delicious and a steak for the main course, possibly the biggest steak I've ever eaten, also the most tender one. To finish things off, a baked alaska for a dessert and a chocolate soufflé, we shared that obviously, even I can't eat two desserts. The restaurent has an extensive wine list which is yet to be explored by me.

The decor is in 70s style with stylish furniture at the entrance and mirrored tables in the restaurant where vain girls like me can check their make up and hair. The interior is very glamourous and makes a great impression, very grande and chic, wonderful chandelier. We loved it there and the service was impeccable and the waiters very knowledgeable, however if you are planning to discuss some intimate details or you happen to be a spy, it's better not to do it as the waiters are very attentive.

After dinner a nice drink in a bar upstairs which very nice however slightly lacking character as it looks like a typical hotel bar, which it is but it it could be slightly more glamourous to match the restaurant.

A great new restaurant that I would gladly come back to and try more dishes from the menu.

Mallarino Bijoux from Paris

My new discovery, beautiful earrings from Mallarino courtesy of Net-a-Porter. Shasha 24-carat gold earrings have the wow factor due to its marvellous original craftsmanship and shape. Magical and extraordinary design using a hand-sewing filigree technique. Fantastic! Earrings for a true princess.

And more Mallarino bijoux here

Novikov in bad books

So far so good with Novikov restaurant but the bar unfortunately disappoints with bitchy and unfriendly waitresses. I guess they don't like pretty single girls there. Huge, huge disappointment. :-(

Novikov - new London restaurant

Newly opened Russian owned Novikov is located at Berkeley Street and attracts the cool City crowd as well as the Nouveau Riche and the Russians. Girls, don't forget to wear your silver fox fur and Chanel bag if you want to mingle well. The venue has two restaurants - Asian and Italian and the lounge downstairs. It welcomes you with a cool blue glow and is very buzzy and fills up very quickly so it's best to make a reservation, my prediction is it might get more and more difficult as the months go by and it will have the availability compared to Zuma, so get it while you can! It seems like it is the new place to be in London, certainly my current favourite.

Asian restaurant in Novikov is quite similar in decor to Hakkasan, with the same buzzy vibe and wooden tables of an eatery, the service is excellent and the waiters extremely caring and knowledgeable. So far I have tried the Asian menu and I must say it is excellent, everyone can find something they like, from a selection of sushi and sashimi, to main dishes- meat and fish, salads, dim sum etc. All inspired from various parts of Asia. Make sure you read the menu properly otherwise you are facing a serious food envy when you see what arrives on other peoples tables.

The bar/lounge downstairs is decorated as a modern style library with small tables, sofas and fancy chandelier. Shame the books aren't real but I guess perhaps you could leave a secret message in the wooden book box for your fellow KGB spy. ;-) I'd prefer a few few copies of 'War and Peace' scattered around so I can catch up on my reading while waiting for my friends. There is a large selection of drinks for apres dinner or apres work. It gets filled up by the end of the week with the fun crowd and i's difficult to get a seat at the tables but you can always stand by the bar.

All in all a great fun place to go for dinner or drinks, fantastic food and great ambiance, very welcoming venue, makes you want to eat there every day.

Spring season is coming

Some of the new cute dresses coming to Matches.

Shoes to watch out for - Gaetano Perrone

Gaetano Perrone - A new emerging designer who has previously designed shoes and accessories for Alexander McQueen, has now released his new collection of beautiful original shoes for Spring/Summer 2012. It's definitely the one to watch out for and see how he develops and also it would be great to know where to buy his shoes, hint hint for Net-a-Porter.

My favourite - first and second one, big fashion statement, huge! ;-)

The Dorchester Spa

Every princess needs a bit of pampering every now and again and why not try the excellent Dorchester Spa in the Dorchester Hotel in London. A vast amount of treatments is available so even the most fussy and demanding clients such as myself will find something suitable. Mini Spa Party is a particularly great choice if like me you simply cannot go anywhere alone and need one of your girl friends as a companion. After the treatment that made me truly relaxed and my skin glowing for many days (many friends made nice comment without knowing I had a facial), I had a glass of champagne and a slice of cake in the lovely relaxation room, if you feeling more gourmande, there is a Spatisserie where you can have more cakes. if you have a more time to spare and have a bad hair day, there is a hairdresser salon available. In case of a shortage of girl friends, feel free to take along your male friend or a boyfriend as there are plenty of spa treatments for men as well.

Of course as all the lovely things in life, you have to book in advance.
