Folli Follie watch - bling that cures

Yesterday I was feeling really bad because of fever, cold etc. but for some reason I was determined to get the watch I saw on a friend, Folli Follie Day Dream (very relevant name). I was thinking about it all night and despite the fever and cold went to the shop and got it, now I must say bling cured be for about half an hour, my symptoms were gone due to excitement and endorphins released by looking at all the bling bling jewellery in Folli Follie shop. And here it is my watch, in its rose gold, stainless steel and crystal glory

And here you can get it online

It costs £155 online but in the shop they offered me 20% off, that sales strategy works very well, I must admit. :-)

For the sex obsessed - sex shoes by Christian Louboutin

Let's just say that you can't be more expressive than when you are wearing those shoes. However when I saw then in the shop, I grabbed the one with 'ex' and was thinking hard 'what's the story with the ex???' until I saw them online in full bloom. Penny has dropped ;-) Now I want them!

Jimmy Choo - Rosalie bag

Hello Rosalie, my new Jimmy Choo bag, a birthday present. :-) I can't wait to wear it in the summer with some elegant outfits but also I think it is ok for smart casual ones. I will post some photos as soon as I find a suitable photographer.
This is my Rosalie

And this is Rosalie in the Jimmy Choo shop online. It comes in different colours, with a detachable shoulder strap and is made of beautiful soft calf leather.

Southbank on Sunday

Sunday was one of those rare days in London that were filled with sunshine so I decided to go to Southbank to have a walk and I discovered my new favourite artist performing ;-)

Remember those days when a nice lady would hand you over hairspray and a mint in a club's toilet and then charge you £10 as she has no change? Those day are soon to be over as they invented vending machines that sell all things you need on a night out, as I discovered in Juju on King's Rd. Dry shampoo, hair pins, deodorant, Bourjois lip gloss, cherry lip balm etc etc. Genius :-)

Object of desire- Golden leather and black suede Gucci sandals

What better way to liven up a black dress than with a pair of golden sandals, possible a golden bag as well. ;-) This pair is made of leather and suede with mirrored Art Deco style heel. Added straight to my wish list. :-)

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal at Mandarin Oriental in London

It was my second time at the famous eatery and I must say I was looking forward to going there again.  Inspired by Historic British Gastronomy, criticised by very mean British Critics The Dinner is located in the Mandarin Oriental hotel and it is nice to have a few few drinks in an excellent cocktail bar in the hotel, always full of people and fun. A long list of cocktails awaits to be tried and tested, still many I haven't tried so I am sure I will be back again and again.

The reservation was at 10pm and the restaurant was still full of guests. The decor is quite simple, dark wood and glass but very glamourous at the same time, the restaurant floor is huge and not really divided so if you want a romantic table, perhaps you should ask in advance. The waiters are very knowledgeable and full of information but to be honest we just wanted a nice meal and it was just that. I am a very predictable girl and I ordered meat fruit as a starter as I had it before and really loved it,

my main course was a duck and that was an excellent choice,

accompanied by Heston's Perfectly Mashed Potatoes. Let's just say, mashed potatoes have never tasted so good anywhere else. All that followed by chocolate bar dessert with flakes of gold, I must say the flakes were bigger in December, it must be the recession ;-)

All in all a great meal and fun atmosphere, great place for a date, which it was. Dress code is formal but us shopaholics will be forgiven if we wear a more flamboyant outfit as the bar is famous for very flamboyant types ;-) Service was great and enthusiastic and I would definitely come back again, I will try more dishes and wines.

More info and reservation here

You can find plenty of reviews of Dinner by Heston on the internet or you could just go to have your own opinion here is a link to one and another critical one. Enjoy.

Shopaholic's essential- Butterfly Twists

All fashionistas know this horrible pain after the night out, or sometimes even before the night has started, when some really gorgeous shoes have taken their toll on our feet. I must say I had that problem last night and had to end the night earlier and missed out on a club because of this very reason. :( But there is hope for us and without compromising on glamour! Butterfly Twists flat ballerinas. They are cute foldable flats that you can tuck into your bag and slip into them at the end of the night or even on the way and then change into your heels. Genius! So if you were suffering from these
you can later change into these
that would be my choice from Butterfly Twists, pink snake, what else? :-)
There are different colours and styles to choose from, even folded boots when the winter comes, my choice would be black Chelsea boots that fold into a pouch. Cute!

All great, but what if you are a super fashion conscious fashionista and have to have everything matchy-matchy? I have an idea for Christian Louboutin to explore- how about each pair of heels has a matching folded red sole ballerinas? Then we don't have to compromise the outfit with different coulours as they will be already incorporated in ballerinas. Well, just remember you read about this idea on my Shopaholic blog first. ;-)

Night out in Notting HIll - The Lonsdale bar

The Lonsdale in Noting Hill is a great place for a night out if you are looking for a rather relaxed atmosphere without the West End drama of the queques and guest lists, however the compromise is slightly on the glamour side of things. Give it one more cocktail from the extensive list of cocktail list in the bar and you will not even notice. The only minus- why so far from King's Rd? ;-) If you are hungry, there is also a restaurant, but I haven't tried it yet. Maybe next time when I am passing by Notting Hill.
